A large part of our work is the transcription of audio material - inventories, letters, reports, meetings, seminars, conferences and interviews. We can edit the literal transcription into taut, easily understood text where the speaker's meaning is clear.
We can transcribe a variety of audio media, as well as DSS and WAV digital sound files.
There is a common misconception that there is a one-to-one relationship between audio material and transcription – in other words that an hour of material will take an hour to transcribe. This is not the case because in general people speak much faster than it is possible to type. The industry standard allows one hour for the transcription of fifteen minutes of clearly recorded speech.
